  • IMPORTANT Information regarding .Net Framework BEFORE you update to 2022.1.00!

    BEFORE YOU UPDATE to 2022.1.00!

    • Please ensure .NET Framework 4.8 Runtime or later is installed on All Servers and Windows Desktop Computers and Tablets which are used to run any of the NEWSTAR Suite of Products before updating to release 2022.1.00.

     Important Information to Note!

    • Constellation Updater will hide release 2022.1.00 as an available update until it detects .NET Framework 4.8 or later on your server as being already installed.
    • You will not be able to update to 2022.1.00 until you have updated your server to .Net Framework 4.8 or later.
    • If you update your server only and then apply the 2022.1.00 NEWSTAR Suite updates, then desktops not yet updated with .Net Framework 4.8 or later will NOT be able to run the NEWSTAR Suite of Product until .Net Framework 4.8 is installed.
    • A computer reboot is required before launching NEWSTAR after .NET 4.8 has been installed.

    How to verify which version of .Net Framework you are running.

    First verify which Operating System you are using on your computer

    1. Type WINVER from your Windows Start Menu.
    2. A window will appear displaying your Window Operating System version.

    If you are running Windows 10 Version 1903 then .Net Framework 4.8 is included.

    • No further action is required
      Note: Control Panel - Programs and Features will NOT display the 4.8 version of .Net Framework even if its installed on a desktop running Windows 10 v1903.

    If you are running Windows 7 SP1, 8.1 or Windows 10 Version 1607 to Version 1809.

    • See instruction below for verifying which .Net Framework is installed.
    • Use the link provided above if you need to install .Net Framework 4.8.

    How to verify the version of Net Framework installed.

    1. Click on the Window Start Menu and type "regedit" or type run and then type "regedit" as the command to "Open"
      Note: you must have administrative credentials to run regedit.
    2. Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP
    3. Under NDP, if you see the v4. Expand this and under that expand Full.
    4. Check for a DWORD value named Release. The existence of the Release DWORD indicates that the .NET Framework 4.5 or newer has been installed on that computer.
    5. The value in Release DWORD will indicate the version. Click here for a detailed list of DWORD Version Numbers and their corresponding .NET Framework Versions.
      Note: At minimum you need Release DWORD value of 528040.
