"I am a mother to 2 beautiful daughters, I have 3 Fur Granddogs – Miller, Memphis & Goose! The arrival of my first Grandson, Rowan, was May 6 and I couldn't be happier!

"Prior to my time with Constellation, I was a Product Manager with Royal Doulton Canada. Most of my career prior to Home Building was spent in Sales & Marketing – 18 years to be exact! I managed 3 different portfolio’s and worked closely with the National VP of Royal Doulton, on new initiatives and branding. In 2006, my career path took a change from Fine China to Construction – huge learning curve there! Which then lead me to being a Sales Administrator for a GTA Home Builder in 2014."

I began a career with a Home Builder in 2014, where I began to learn NEWSTAR Enterprise and NEWSTAR Sales. My appreciation for the program grew the more I was learning and using the system. In 2016, I was able to secure a position with Constellation Home Builder Systems as an Implementation Manager, where I continue to train and implement clients using my knowledge of the system. During my time here, I have become a SME for Design Studio Manager, SalesXpress and Home Production Modules of NEWSTAR. The thing I love about this, is that it is a continuous learning experience – there is so much to learn!!!

What is your professional background?
Sales & Marketing for 18 years prior to Home Building.

How did you become interested in homebuilding?
I was actually very interested in Real Estate and began taking my Realtor’s courses.

What is the most rewarding thing about your work?
I like working with our clients, and although we are implementing the same systems, it is always different. There is always so much to learn.

If you could give yourself advice when you started in the industry, what would it be?
Be more patient and less hard on yourself. NSE is a beast, and although I believed I knew a lot, when I first started, I learned – there was oh so much more that I needed to learn!

What do you think is the biggest challenge the homebuilding industry faces today?
Today, they are being faced with higher interest rates, which means sales may be a little slower. Also, with getting back to work after COVID, there are still some material shortages to overcome.

What are you looking forward to most in the next 5 to 10 years?
There are some exciting new things coming from Constellation, new programs, etc and I am excited to be learning those and passing on the knowledge to our clients.

What's your favorite tip for someone using NEWSTAR?
Not sure if it is a tip, but this is one of the best positions anyone could have. We have great clients, we get the experience of travelling, and the satisfaction of knowing our clients are learning from the sessions we provide them. It truly is a wonderful experience.

What do you do when you're not working?
I like to travel for pleasure, and if not travelling, I will be up on the Lake (Pigeon Lake, Ontario) for the summer months enjoying lake life.

Welcome Kim, we appreciate your experience and help to users on CAMPUS!
